The Spiritual Care Association (SCA) is the first multidisciplinary, international professional membership association for spiritual care providers that establishes evidence-based quality indicators, scope of practice, and a knowledge base for spiritual care.
The SCA Nursing Division focuses on the spiritual dimension of professional nursing practice including registered nurses, advanced practice and specialty practice nurses from a wide variety of hospital and non-hospital-based settings. Additionally, it supports the advancement of the spiritual care component of nursing practice as an integral aspect of high-quality whole-person care for all including the professional providing the care.
The SCA Hospice & Palliative Care Division focuses on the spiritual dimension of professional practice including professional chaplains whose specialization is in this setting, as well as community leaders serving as chaplains or spiritual care generalists, and all members of a hospice and palliative care team. Additionally, it supports the advancement of the spiritual care component of hospice and palliative care services as an essential aspect of high-quality whole-person care for all including the professional providing the care.
