Samsiah Abdul-Majid is a board certified chaplain in Palliative Care at Westchester Medical Center (WMC). Her chaplaincy residency and internship were at Massachusetts General Hospital and WMC, respectively. She holds a palliative care chaplaincy certificate from California State University’s Institute of Palliative Care; MA in Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations and Graduate Certificate in Islamic Chaplaincy, both from Hartford Seminary; and MBA from Assumption University, Thailand. Samsiah came to chaplaincy after a career at the United Nations. She is active in the Muslim and interfaith communities locally and nationally; and her research interest is in experiences of Muslim healthcare chaplains.
