L. Emily Cotter MD, MPH

L. Emily Cotter is a family physician and palliative care clinician. She completed an MPH at UC Berkeley, medical school at George Washington University, and palliative medicine fellowship at the University of New Mexico. She worked as a family medicine hospitalist, educator, and has worked in global health settings in sub-Saharan Africa. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Palliative Medicine at the University of New Mexico working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Professional interests include trauma-informed care, promoting health equity and social justice, cultivating compassion in the clinical encounter, and education of medical learners.
